Chelsea have had scouts in attendance for the ongoing U20 World Cup, and have been particularly impressed by one defender in action.
It has been a key focus of the club ever since the new owners took over to bring in some of the top young talents in world football before other elite sides get their hands on them.
This has been shown by the addition of Estevao Willian. PSG were gutted not to sign Estevao, and he has gone on to become a first team star at the age of 18 for the Blues.
The likes of Kendry Paez, Mamadou Sarr and Mike Penders are all ready to make their impact on the Blues too, with them all currently on loan at Strasbourg.

Chelsea impressed by Rion Ichihara at U20 World Cup
The next crop of youngsters are currently proving their worth at the U20 World Cup, and one of those who has made a strong impact so far is defender Rion Ichihara.
The Japan captain is currently preparing for action in the Round of 16 of the tournament, but he has already left an impression.
Graeme Bailey has told The Chelsea Chronicle that Ichihara has emerged on their radar following his performances during the tournament.
He said: “He’s been outstanding in the tournament. It’s been described to me is where it’s only a pond that is so big and when there’s players standing out there’s no secrets at this tournament. The best players are the best players and he’s one who’s standing out. A lot of promise, very, very good so he’s one who has impressed whilst he’s been over there I can confirm that.
“But again Chelsea are not the only ones. There’s a lot of clubs over there but Chelsea have been impressed by him.”
Chelsea scouting far and wide at U20 World Cup
The Japan skipper is not the only player from the tournament who has caught their eye so far.
Chelsea are keen on Gilberto Mora, however will be well aware that the majority of clubs in world football have already been wowed by the Mexican.
There will be some sections of Chelsea supporters who feel the money that gets spent on these young talents could be put to better use when it comes to the first team squad.
However, the impact of Estevao in particular will have some starting to get on board with the project, which has caused some controversy over the past few years inside Stamford Bridge.
