Chelsea have proven they are not afraid to complete signings for the future since BlueCo came in, and they are now keen on a deal for young Bayern Munich goalkeeper Leonard Prescott.

There has been great frustration from Chelsea supporters over the club’s policy of prioritising promising young stars rather than bringing in experienced heads to immediately strengthen the squad.

While the magnitude of these signings has been ridiculous, there have been some gems make their way through. Estevao Willian, Andrey Santos and Mamadou Sarr have all featured for the first team squad this season.

Chelsea keen on Bayern Munich wonderkid Leonard Prescott

While there is a plan to add more experienced players, this will not stop them from looking for the next big thing when the opportunity arises.

This kind of chance has cropped up when it comes to Leonard Prescott, whose current contract with Bayern expires in 2027.

Despite efforts to keep him at the club, Sky Germany have reported that Chelsea are one of the top European sides who are interested in capitalising on the situation in Germany.

The report goes on to say that Prescott is seen as the biggest goalkeeping talent currently at Bayern, and with Manuel Neuer approaching retirement it will be a position they are keen to address soon.

Chelsea’s current goalkeeping options, Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen, have divided opinions to say the least this season.

Out of the managers we have been linked with, which one do you think might be able to get the very best out of Cole Palmer again?👀

Chelsea already have a promising young goalkeeper in their ranks in the form of Mike Penders, who is currently on loan at Strasbourg.

Despite original hope he would be ready to compete for the number one jersey at Stamford Bridge, there are now internal doubts about whether Penders is developed enough for that step.

Another loan away is being considered, which could put him on a dangerous pathway away from the first team setup in West London.

It would be difficult to see a route to becoming the starting goalkeeper for both players, and the club’s interest in another prospect is an early warning for the Belgian.
