Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is now interested in making a return to management.

Frank Lampard, who’s idolised around Stamford Bridge for a stunning career as a Chelsea star, is one of the top players ever produced in England.

However, the 45-year-old’s now trying to convince everyone of his talent as a manager.

He’s been the head coach at Derby County, Chelsea and Everton in recent years. His most recent job was a brief return to the Blues as a caretaker boss at the end of last season, which was under very difficult circumstances.

Now, there’s speculation that Lampard’s found a position he wants as he seeks to return to the game.

Vacant job at Stoke

Journalist Simon Phillips claims Championship club Stoke City are the the team in Lampard’s sight.

They’re 19th position in England’s second division and managerless right now.

Apparently, Lampard would be very interested about the job if he’s approached.

Phillips shared via his Substack: “Stoke are in a bit of trouble this season and currently sit in 19th spot in the Championship, but I am told that Lampard would be up for this challenge and is keen on the role.

“As of now, sources are unsure whether Stoke have shortlisted him or shown any interest, but Lampard would be keen to speak to them about the role if approached.”

Frank Lampard keen on Stoke

We’d certainly love Lampard to return to the dugout this season because he’s shown glimpses during his managerial career that he’s got potential and a big future.

Speaking via talkSPORT (11:30am, 5 December), Simon Jordan said that Sunderland would be an “interesting” next project for Lampard as they look to fill their vacant manager’s seat.

He had some ups and downs in the Premier League across time with Chelsea and Everton, so perhaps a return to the Championship to work under a bit less scrutiny could be a wise decision. Let’s remember he’s still a relatively young and inexperienced coach to most.
