Chelsea have made it no secret they are going to continue to add young talents to their first team squad in the coming transfer windows, already securing the services of Strasbourg striker Emanuel Emegha.
The Dutchman is set to stay with the Ligue 1 side for the rest of the season, despite the unfavourable reaction his impending move has gotten from their fans.
Emegha is set to be a first team player at Chelsea next season, however this hasn’t put the Blues off holding interest in other young targets in the same position.
They already signed Liam Delap and Joao Pedro to play up front this season, however their attention has turned to another goalscorer in a top European League.

Chelsea looking at signing Etta Eyong
One player who has emerged on their shortlist is Etta Eyong, who is enjoying a breakout season in La Liga in front of goal.
Journalist Ben Jacobs has stated that a striker described as ‘the next Haaland’ is on the radar of a number of elite sides, with Chelsea being one of them.
He said: I did an exclusive interview for GiveMeSport that aired this morning with Etta Eyong who’s a Cameroon international. He’s only 22 years of age and a lot of people are calling him the next Haaland although he told me he’s more similar in profile he believes to Harry Kane.
“He’s got six La Liga goals, one for Villarreal, five for Levante and three assists. And only Kylian Mbappe this season in La Liga has got more goal contributions. Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid, even Arsenal and Chelsea have looked at the player and there’s going to be a whole lot of hype when his release clause kicks in in the summer.”

Who is Etta Eyong?
Eyong broke into the Villarreal setup at the start of 2025, however has already been capped by his nation twice as a result of his meteoric rise.
Just two months later though, he permanently moved to Levante, where the bulk of his La Liga goals have come this season.
Despite only joining over the summer, the inclusion of his release clause will make it very hard for the Spanish side to keep hold of him.
Chelsea would be far better off being more selective over their signings and adding experience to their ranks, favouring additions such as Mike Maignan in upcoming transfer windows.
