Reports have claimed that Chelsea are now willing to offer some of their players in order to get a deal over the line for Ivan Toney.

According to 90min, the Blues may look to their own squad in an attempt to bring down the £75m asking price Brentford have set.

Toney is likely to be on the move in the next transfer window, with him not currently in action due to an FA ban he is serving this season.

However, his ability to find the net was on full display in the last campaign, when he ended the season only behind Erling Haaland and Harry Kane.

A striker is almost certainly going to be high on the list of potential future signings for Chelsea, after their start to the season has exposed their flaws.

They have just five goals in six Premier League games this season, and if they don’t find the net tonight against Brighton they will have gone the entire month of September without finding the net.

Nicolas Jackson has started every league game up front so far, however has just one goal to his name despite the hard work he puts in all over the pitch.

The club are looking forward to the return of Armando Broja, who has been out for nine months due to a serious knee injury.

His appearance off the bench against Aston Villa at the weekend was the only positive of the afternoon, as the Blues were again defeated at home.

Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that he is not yet ready to start a game, leaving the manager a tricky task in choosing a regular number nine in the coming days.
