Chelsea now ready to meet club’s asking price to sign ‘incredible’ player

Reports have claimed that Chelsea are now ready to meet Brighton’s demands in terms of price to sign Moises Caicedo this summer.

According to the Evening Standard, they are plotting a move worth £100m including add-ons to sign the 21-year-old.

The saga to try and sign Caicedo has gone on beyond where anyone expected, after claims all the way back in May suggested personal terms were agreed.

However, it has dragged out to August now, just three days before the Blues get their Premier League campaign underway with the visit of Liverpool.

Ironically, it could be the Reds that give Chelsea the encouragement they need to finally close a deal for the Ecuador international.

Sensational reports today have claimed that Liverpool have actually outbid the Blues for the player described by Adam Lallana as ‘incredible’.

While Brighton deny a bid has come in, there have certainly been negotiations between the Reds and the Seagulls over the logistics of a deal.

This follows last night’s breaking story that Chelsea have submitted a bid higher than any of Liverpool’s so far to sign Romeo Lavia from Southampton.

While the Saints are likely to reject that move, it is reportedly not far at all away from the price they are looking for.

The irony of the standoff between both sides in deals for both midfielders is that they are set to go head-to-head in just three days when their Premier League seasons get underway at Stamford Bridge.

While it is likely at this stage that neither will be on the pitch for any team, it is a fair assumption that there will be significant progress one way or another before kick-off.
