Chelsea have reportedly considered making a move to sign a striker when the transfer window opens up again.

According to reports, the Blues have added Viktor Gyokeres to their list as they look to address the glaring goalscoring issue that is ongoing at Stamford Bridge.

Victor Osimhen has been often touted as the number one target, however his reported price tag could see the Blues look elsewhere.

One of the strikers they are now reportedly looking at actually has experience working with the prior permanent Chelsea boss.

Former boss Graham Potter has worked with the 25-year-old at Brighton, although he didn’t breakthrough on the south coast.

The Englishman described the forward as ‘different’ when it came to his skillset.

He said: “He has attributes that are different,” said Potter. “It is not easy to play up front on his own, that was the role he was asked to do and I thought he kept going and got his reward at the end. He is learning but he still has qualities I think we can use.

“He is one of those where we will keep assessing where he is at and make a decision for him in terms of his development. He has been good in the group and we are pleased with him.”

Chelsea supporters are likely not too familiar with the Sweden international, who impressed in the Championship last season for Coventry.

He was linked with a move to the Premier League back then, although instead decided to make the move to Portugal where he has been smashing the goals in.

It remains to be seen if the Blues make a move for the big striker when the window opens in January.
