After three games in the United States, it is starting to become clearer who at Chelsea is fitted for what the new manager is looking to bring to the club.

Enzo Maresca has seen a mixed bag as far as results go in pre-season so far, however the most recent display against Club America showed they were heading in the right direction.

Drills from the training ground are becoming clear to see, despite the fact the Italian has chopped and changed with his starting side as expected.

One position in particular where there is not a clear favourite for who will begin the season in is left-wing, with three different players starting there in the three games so far.

The most recent occupant has been Raheem Sterling, who many expected to be on the move this summer after it was claimed there was an appetite to part ways with him.

Raheem Sterling suits Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea style

However, according to GiveMeSport, the England international is seen as a player who suits what the new manager is looking to bring to the club,

While a new winger such as Michael Olise and Nico Williams was very much on the radar earlier this summer, talk of a potential signing seem to have faded up to now.

Sterling pushing to start vs Manchester City

Despite not having the impact he desired since his £50m move to West London, he will no doubt feel confident that he can make his mark in Chelsea’s opening game of the season.

The Blues will be taking on Sterling’s former side, Manchester City, with him clearly having a point to prove to them after they decided to let him leave.

He did just this last season when he found the net in both games, and will be hoping to do so again when the new campaign rolls around in a few weeks’ time.
