Reports have claimed that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is in favour of one huge change to be made to things in the Premier League right now.
According to the Mail Online, the American is keen to end the 3pm blackout that currently exists when it comes to televising games.
Currently, games that take place at 3pm on a Saturday are not televised in England due to rules put in place that prevent fans from abandoning going to games lower down the football pyramid.
However, many over the last few seasons will question whether it is outdated and also unfair to not allow supporters the opportunity to watch these games.
This is mostly because of the extortionate prices fans pay for television packages in the modern day.
Boehly wants end to 3pm blackout
It has been reported that Boehly has also noted the potential financial bonus for the owner of the games all being available for viewing.
The man in charge has already facilitated the club spending an extortionate amount of money in the three transfer windows he has so far been in charge for.
This has included smashing the club’s transfer record twice already. First, Enzo Fernandez was brought in back in January off the back of his sensational World Cup campaign.
Then, Moises Caicedo was brought in to play alongside him, as he chose a move to Stamford Bridge in favour of one to Liverpool.
While the financial injection from more televised games would certainly be gratefully taken, it does not feel as if the club are yet ready to stop spending where required in future windows.
