Chelsea have just one more friendly to get them into shape before the Premier League opener against Manchester City.

Enzo Maresca will be hoping to see some of his principles in place back on home turf when Inter Milan come to Stamford Bridge this weekend.

For many, improvements are needed before the new campaign gets underway, particularly at the back after shipping plenty of goals in the United States.

Here’s The Chelsea Chronicle’s predicted side for the pre-season friendly against the Serie A Champions.

With him looking as if he was brought in to become the new number one, Filip Jorgensen will start in goal this weekend.

Reece James is not available for the start of the season due to suspension, so Maresca will get a look at Malo Gusto in his more natural role.

The first centre-back will be Tosin Adarabioyo, who has impressed mostly since joining the club this summer.

Next to him will be Levi Colwill, who will looking to get to full sharpness with another appearance.

The Chelsea side has desperately missed a natural inverting full-back, and they will finally have this available when Marc Cucurella makes his first appearance of the summer.

Arguably the standout performer of pre-season, Romeo Lavia will continue looking to show he should start the Premier League opener.

Moises Caicedo will start in midfield too, with Maresca seemingly being very impressed by the Ecuadorian too.

The final midfielder will be Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, with his understanding of the manager’s system being key right now.

The right wing will be occupied by Noni Madueke, who is currently on a run of scoring the last three friendlies he has featured in.

The opposite side will see Raheem Sterling start again. He will be hoping for a start against City after scoring against them in both league games last season.

Up front, Christopher Nkunku will continue his run of staring every game this summer as he hopes for a far kinder season as far as injuries go.
