Arsenal supporters on social media will be complaining about one player at London rivals Chelsea.

During the international break, WhoScored have had a little bit of fun, composing a Team of the Season so far that only consists of summer signings. Viktor Gyokeres did not make the cut.

However, one Chelsea star has after his impact at Stamford Bridge this term.

Not all of the Blues’ summer signings have been able to shine, though, with Jamie Gittens really having a hard time at the moment. Arsenal legend Alan Smith has even described Gittens’ move as “strange”.

Joao Pedro makes summer signings Team of the Season

Gyokeres has scored three goals in the Premier League this season, as has Newcastle United’s Nick Woltemade. Joao Pedro has managed one fewer but has registered five goal contributions in total.

It has helped the striker to clinch a place in WhoScored’s summer signings Team of the Season ahead of the likes of Gyokeres and Woltemade.

Pedro has not actually scored since Chelsea’s 2-0 win against Fulham at the end of August, but he has done enough overall to make WhoScored’s team, it seems.

Estevao Willian has missed out, but he is another Chelsea signing who is having a good Premier League campaign.

The teenager scored the Blues’ winning goal against Liverpool last time out. Estevao did not start in Brazil’s last game, a decision Carlo Ancelotti may regret.

Brazil lost 3-2 to Japan after beating South Korea 5-0 in a match where Estevao was able to grab a brace. Pedro did not feature in either after being left out of Ancelotti’s latest Selecao squad.

Chelsea were interested in another star from summer signings Team of the Season

Chelsea could have had another player in WhoScored’s team had they signed Jack Grealish from Manchester City.

According to journalist Simon Phillips, Chelsea did consider Grealish on more than one occasion before his City exit, but Everton proved to be his destination in the end.

He is currently thriving there, providing four assists in seven league games.
