Chelsea star Malo Gusto shares moment in his career that gave him ‘the best feeling’

Chelsea defender Malo Gusto has already achieved quite a lot for a 21-year-old.

Malo Gusto is playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world in Chelsea and is a France international.

With Reece James struggling to stay fit, the Frenchman could soon easily become the Blues’ first-choice right-back.

Chelsea insiders insist James hasn’t had a setback, but the Blues remain without him. As for Gusto, he has also had a small injury problem, but he is back now and has been speaking about his career as a footballer.

Malo Gusto’s Lyon contract

Before joining Chelsea, Gusto played for Lyon, one of the top clubs in France. Again, it shows that the right-back has achieved a lot of things for someone who only recently turned 21.

In 2020, Lyon handed Gusto his first professional contract at the age of just 17, and he says seeing how happy it made his parents gave him “the best feeling” ever.

Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, Gusto said: “It was just a feeling of pride, when I saw how proud and happy my parents were. That was the best feeling.”

Gusto says Chelsea have to win a trophy this season, which would really be the icing on the cake in his young career.

Will Malo Gusto start against West Ham United?

Gusto has returned to first-team training after missing the trip to Bournemouth, so he should be available for Saturday’s London derby against West Ham United.

Chelsea fans will be praying that he is, as Axel Disasi didn’t have a good game at right-back at the Vitality Stadium.

Enzo Maresca will not want to use the central defender there too often. But with James constantly injured, if anything happens to Gusto, then there are not too many other first-team players whom he can turn to.

It is vital, then, for Gusto to stay fit. Hopefully, the problem he picked up against Crystal Palace before the international break was just the odd injury and does not become something that Chelsea fans have to get used to like with James.
