There’s been plenty of speculation surrounding Nicolas Jackson this summer after returning from his loan spell at Bayern Munich.

It’s believed that Xabi Alonso intends to integrate Jackson into his squad for Chelsea‘s pre-season, where he will make a decision on him.

Meanwhile, Mamadou Sarr will be looking to work his way into the good books of the Spaniard after struggling for game time upon returning from his Strasbourg loan last season.

Both players made it into Senegal’s 26-man World Cup squad.

Nicolas Jackson gets a red card inside 22 minutes for Senegal

Nicolas Jackson endured a frustrating outing for Senegal in their final World Cup warm-up friendly against Saudi Arabia.

In a scoreless draw, the forward showed his lack of discipline, picking up two rapid cautions in the closing stages, receiving his marching orders after an 84th-minute second yellow card left his side with ten men.

He managed zero shots, just seven touches, made his only pass, two tackles, won four out of six duels, committed two fouls for his yellow cards and was fouled once (as per FotMob).

Mamadou Sarr enjoys a positive display for Senegal

Mamadou Sarr put in a disciplined and solid defensive shift during Senegal’s 0-0 international friendly draw against Saudi Arabia.

Starting at centre-back, the young Chelsea defender played 82 minutes, anchoring the defense effectively to ensure a clean sheet for the Lions of Teranga before being substituted late on.

He had one shot, one touch in the opposition’s box, 82 touches, a passing accuracy percentage of 92, made four passes into the final third, three out of four accurate long balls, one block, two recoveries, two clearances, but failed to win any of his three duels and commited one foul.
