Chelsea are still confident that Andrey Santos has a big future in the game despite this season not going to plan for the midfielder.
That is according to journalist Dean Jones, who has been speaking to GiveMeSport about Andrey Santos.
The 19-year-old joined Nottingham Forest on loan during the summer but has only made one appearance in the Premier League for them.
Chelsea could now look to recall Santos and send him elsewhere.
Chelsea still believe in Andrey Santos
While Santos has clearly not been able to win over Steve Cooper, according to Jones, Chelsea still believe in their young Brazilian.
On Santos, he told GiveMeSport: “The club are very frustrated because they had good word from Forest about the game time he would get, but sometimes this happens. Nothing in football is guaranteed.
“Now I am told they will work on a new plan for him and that is likely to mean another loan. I think we’ll probably see him move abroad in January, but this is still a player Chelsea are working closely with because they do believe he has a big future in the game if he can just level-up his experience.”

Does Andrey Santos have a big future in the game?
Santos is only 19 years of age but is already a full Brazil international. That alone tells you that the midfielder is heading down the right path and could indeed go on to have a good career.
What has happened with his loan at Forest is obviously a setback, but it does not have to be a major one.
Again, Santos is still a very young player. He can afford for one or two loan spells not to work out. If he can eventually find the right club to develop at for a year before returning to Chelsea, then perhaps the Brazil international will go on to accomplish much in the game.
Regarding the present, though, Chelsea must now sort out this mess with Forest and find Santos a new club where he is actually going to play. Santos can still salvage something from this season. It does not have to be a complete waste. He just needs to join a side who will give him a chance.
It is almost January, so perhaps it is something that the Blues are already working on.
