Chelsea attacker Mykhailo Mudryk has similarities to Kylian Mbappe, according to one of his previous coaches.
Mykhailo Mudryk completed his move from Shakhtar Donetsk to Chelsea back in January, which could end up costing as much as £89million (BBC).
The 22-year-old is a left-winger with express pace. West Ham’s Michail Antonio recently described Mudryk as “rapid” after coming up against him in the Premier League.
It’s taking him some time to settle at Stamford Bridge, with Blues manager Graham Potter not playing him in every game yet.
However, the Ukraine international is very highly rated and has shown Chelsea fans in snippets what he’s all about.

Oleksandr Ryabokon, who managed Mudryk during his loan spell with Ukrainian club Desna Chernigiv in 2020, has spoken very highly about Chelsea’s January recruit.
In particular, he made a comparison between him and French superstar Mbappe.
“We needed an aggressive, fast, dribbling, young left winger. He (Mudryk) was humble and calm, training from dawn until dusk. He grew physically under me and gained confidence in each match,” Ryabokon said, as quoted by the Evening Standard.
“I don’t like the Neymar comparisons because, at his best, I think he is more like [Gabriel] Martinelli, Vinicius [Junior] or [Kylian] Mbappe. He used his speed and technique to create goals from nothing.
“His move to Chelsea puts a lot of pressure on him so I just hope his coach, team-mates and supporters will help him as Shakhtar did.”

Wesley Fofana recently said Chelsea teammate Mudryk is even faster than Mbappe, so this isn’t the first time his name has come up in the same sentence as the PSG forward.
Mbappe is one of the world’s elite players and a benchmark for most attackers to try reach nowadays. His record of 31 goals in 33 club games so far this season highlights his kind of quality.
You can’t teach the kind of pace Mudryk has at his disposal, so we can’t wait to see how he progresses in the months ahead.
Chelsea supporters shouldn’t be too disheartened at this stage by a slow start in his opening couple of months.
Ukraine play England at Wembley Stadium next week in a European Championship qualifier. We think this is a perfect opportunity for Mudryk to lay down a marker.
