The report has claimed that Premier League champions City have reached an agreement in principle over personal terms with Kovacic.

Chelsea want £35 million in transfer fees for the former Real Madrid midfielder, and City are willing to pay that sum, according to the report.

This means that the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are ready to make a £5 million loss on Kovacic, who was described as “incredible” by West Ham United and England international midfielder Declan Rice in February 2022.

As reported by Sky Sports, Chelsea paid Madrid £40.25 million in transfer fees to sign the £150,000-a-week (SalarySport) Croatia international midfielder.
