Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United all are interested in signing Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window, according to a report.

Chelsea face Manchester United and Newcastle United competition for Neymar

French publication L’Equipe have reported that Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United are keen on securing the services of Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar.

The report has claimed that Manchester United are in talks over a possible deal, and that PSG are willing to sell the former Barcelona forward.

Chelsea and Newcastle are also interested in the 31-year-old Brazil international, according to the report.

L’Equipe have claimed that Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is trying to convince his Brazil international teammate Neymar to snub Chelsea and Newcastle and move to Old Trafford.

Loan transfer to Blues possible?

The report has added, quite intriguingly, that PSG could send Neymar out on loan to Manchester United, who would cover his entire salary for next season.

And that could appeal to Chelsea as well.

Neymar earns £606,000 per week as salary (SalarySport) at PSG.

And the French giants paid £200 million for the Brazilian (BBC Sport) in transfer fees back in the summer of 2017.

Now, of course, no one expects Chelsea, Manchester United or Newcastle to pay £200 million for Neymar now, but it is very unlikely that PSG will just let the forward leave on the cheap.

If Chelsea could strike a loan agreement with PSG and cover Neymar’e entire wages for next season, then it could work out.

While the Brazilian has had injury problems during his time at PSG and has not been at his very best, he is still 31 and could be a valuable addition to the Chelsea squad for next season.
