Chelsea are now surely about to kick into gear when it comes to their transfer business this summer.

With July coming around, a new year is underway as far as the books go, meaning they do not need to worry as much when it comes to spending larger fees.

It is believed that the Blues are looking to enter the market for a new attacker, with a central striker not being ruled out to bolster their options.

They have recently been linked with one player who would no doubt have a real impact as a starter at Stamford Bridge.

With the knowledge that Newcastle needed to sell before the end of last month, Chelsea put themselves in the conversation for a deal to sign Alexander Isak.

Chelsea told to pay over £150m for Isak

The Sweden international has enjoyed a meteoric rise when it comes to being one of the best forwards around. Eddie Howe has already described him as ‘incredible’.

However, any sort of deal quickly became a non-starter, with The Telegraph reporting that Chelsea were told it would cost more than £150m to sign him this summer.

This fee would be significantly more than what they paid in order to sign both Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo in consecutive transfer windows.

Chelsea moved away from Michael Olise

It does seem as if the Blues have begun to shy away from any deals at that kind of price point, with a young squad they need to keep the harmony in.

They were reportedly very keen on the signing of Frenchman Michael Olise, however the fact he wanted to instantly become one of their highest paid players suggested to the club that it was not a deal they wanted to pursue.

It remains to be seen if a central forward is brought in this summer, with Enzo Maresca clearly not wanting to go into next season with just Nicolas Jackson as an option.
