With Euro 2024 now coming to an end, talk at Chelsea will now likely be on if there are any players who peaked their interest as far as a potential transfer goes.

It was a mixed competition for a number of the current Blues. Marc Cucurella gained plenty of plaudits for his performances as Spain went on to win the whole thing.

This came at the expense of England, despite the fact Cole Palmer found the net in the final after coming off the bench.

One player who made quite the impact in the final has reportedly cropped up on the radar at Stamford Bridge as they assess their options in this transfer window.

Nico Williams made quite the impact playing alongside Cucurella for Spain, and has left a number of sides interested in bringing him in.

Chelsea ‘would love’ to sign Nico Williams

One of those is Barcelona, however they are fearful that they could be beaten to a deal by Chelsea.

According to The Athletic, the Blues are keen admirers of the winger, and would love to make him what would be their marquee addition of the summer.

The report goes on to say that they have been keen on bringing him since before the tournament however, and did plenty of scouting of him last season.

Michael Olise was Chelsea’s number one target

It was believed that Chelsea had made Michael Olise their number one transfer target this summer, however missed out on him as he decided to join Bayern Munich.

A winger being high on the agenda suggests there is not a great deal of confidence in the players they already have in those positions as they prepare for the first campaign under Enzo Maresca.

It feels as if a big season is needed from the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke in order to prove that they can be the future of the club in those attacking roles, and a new big-name signing is not needed.
