There are five games left in the Premier League season and Chelsea still have a lot to play for.

Enzo Maresca‘s side are sixth in the Premier League table but can still finish in the top five and ultimately qualify for the Champions League.

It was their goal heading into the campaign and remains in reach; however, it is not going to be easy.

Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has his doubts about Chelsea and has already predicted them to miss out on a top-five finish, but he is not the only one to have done so.

Seventh place Chelsea’s highest probability

Opta’s supercomputer has also predicted where Chelsea are most likely to finish this season, and it is not looking good for Maresca’s men.

Following the last gameweek, according to Opta Analyst, there is a 36.5% chance of Chelsea finishing in seventh. It is the highest probability that the supercomputer has given the Blues.

Regardless of what happens in the Conference League, to not even finish in the top six would be disgraceful. In truth, Chelsea really need to be locking down fifth or fourth since, again, Champions League qualification was their aim going into this season.

Missing out on it could impact their transfer plans. For example, it has been claimed that Liam Delap wants Champions League football as he prepares for his Ipswich Town exit.

With Chelsea still having to play Liverpool, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest, the above looks like a real possibility.

Enzo Maresca will miss Chelsea’s next game because of Anthony Taylor

To make matters worse for the Blues, they will be without their manager for their next game against Everton.

Following his wild celebrations after Chelsea’s 2-1 win away at Fulham last weekend, Anthony Taylor handed Maresca a yellow card.

It was the Chelsea manager‘s third of the season and the second that Taylor has dished out to him, meaning he is now suspended for the Everton tie. If you are a Blues fan, you have to be worried right now.
