Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has taken to Instagram to react to the performance of Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard yesterday.
The Belgian picked up a hat-trick of assists as the Gunners kept up their title charge with a dominant 3-0 win over high-flying Fulham.
After bringing him in for £20m as a response to missing out on the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk, the former Brighton man has been a success at the Emirates.

Cucurella was a teammate of the winger at Brighton, before the pair both made the expected move to bigger sides when their abilities exceeded that of the seaside club.
It appears as if their friendship has not been affected by moves to rival Premier League sides in the last few months. The Spaniard took to Instagram to praise Trossard’s performance.

While Trossard has been impressing, Cucurella has also been beginning to show why he was signed for all that money last summer.
The defender has featured on the left of a back three for the last two games, which have arguably been the most important for Graham Potter since he took over at Stamford Bridge.

He certainly repaid the faith put in him by his long-time coach, as he brought him back into the side after a number of games where he didn’t even make the bench.
The return of Ben Chilwell could have seen his place almost disappear in the starting 11, especially after the England international has instantly shown what he can bring to the attack as well as defence.
However, Cucurella has looked far more comfortable with less attacking responsibilities in the team, and alongside Wesley Fofana and Kalidou Koulibaly has formed a relationship at the back that has dealt with the absence of Thiago Silva about as well as they could.
