Chelsea are braced for interest in Marc Cucurella this summer, and now the player himself has set his own value in the transfer market.

The Blues must be worried that a number of their top stars could be on the move after they failed to qualify for any form of European football next season.

The instability in the manager’s position will almost certainly play a factor too, although the club are hoping to put an end to that with the hiring of Xabi Alonso.

Marc Cucurella tells rival clubs how much he is worth

The incoming manager originally wanted to keep Cucurella, although links with a move away from the Blues have not died down.

Cucurella was asked by Partidazacope about what he would value himself in today’s transfer market, potentially putting other clubs on note of what they can expect to have to pay.

He said a fee between 35 and 45 million euros, which converts to around £30m-£39m. The Blues paid close to £60m for his signature in 2022.

The Spain international has remained a crucial part of the Chelsea side, but the decision to hand him a new big-money contract is one that has not come easy.

This is also due to the presence of Jorrel Hato in the side, who was arguably Chelsea’s most improved player in the second half of last season.

If you’re the president of a football club, who do you hire first: Jose Mourinho or Xabi Alonso?🤔

Put the bias aside!

Clubs interested in Cucurella

All of Spain’s top sides are interested in Cucurella, who has made his desire to return to his home country today no secret.

Atletico Madrid star Marc Pubill has already told him to join him in the Spanish capital, and his full-blooded style of play would perfectly complement Diego Simeone.

There is also faint Premier League interest from Manchester City, who were looking to bring him in before he made the switch to West London.

A move there would see him reunite with Enzo Maresca, who is expected to be named as their new manager ahead of the new season.
