Chelsea are undergoing a bit of a transition process off the field with the club’s owners plans for Cobham uncovered amid talks of a new stadium and the redevelopment of Stamford Bridge.
Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have spent plenty of money on the field and it now looks as if they’re set to invest in things off the field on a large scale.
Chelsea have invested heavily into transfers over the past couple of years, breaking their transfer record on a number of occasions.
Moises Caicedo joined for around £115 million, which is crazy even now to think about.
Interestingly, there have been talks about Chelsea potentially spending money on redeveloping Stamford Bridge or even building a new stadium.
It looks like the Chelsea owners have plans outside of that, as Cobham is on the to-do list.

Chelsea’s owners plan to upgrade Cobham in the next 12 months
Jason Gannon is a name that Chelsea fans are going to hear an awful lot about in the next few years.
Earlier this month, Jason Gannon was promoted from his role as chief operating officer to president & chief operating officer at Chelsea.
He’s playing a big part behind the scenes at the club, talking to the Chelsea Supporters Trust and using his connections from various other high-profile jobs to make things happen, including the potential redevelopment of Stamford Bridge and the potential new stadium at Earl’s Court.
A report from the Athletic (NY Times) states that upgrading the training ground at Cobham, where Chelsea have been based since 2005, is also on Gannon’s to-do list for the next 12 months.
Gannon’s exciting links and plans at Chelsea
The report from the Athletic states that whether Chelsea rebuilds Stamford Bridge or goes to Earl’s Court, much was recently made of Gannon’s meeting with Transport for London.
Talk of Chelsea making a final decision is far too premature, but the Athletic’s sources have said that the club’s links with all the bodies they need to talk to about the new stadium are much stronger than they have been because of Gannon.
If you’re wanting to know a bit more about Gannon himself, he was previously at Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, which is the same organisation that Stan Kroenke, owner of London rivals Arsenal, heads up and includes the LA Rams, the Denver Nuggets and the Colorado Avalanche in its portfolio.
He was involved in the SoFi Stadium project, so he knows what he’s doing if the club decides to build a new stadium or even redevelop it.
