The last decade has been a hugely successful one for the Blues. A trophy in almost every competition and some incredible moments along the way. Here is Chelsea’s team of the decade.
Goalkeeper – Petr Cech

The Blues have had had both Thibaut Courtois and Kepa Arrizabalaga take a place since Petr Cech left Stamford Bridge, but neither has lived up to his legacy.
The Czech Republic goalkeeper deserves his place in the team of the decade for his heroics in his final years with the club. This included an outstanding performance in the 2012 Champions League final, which saw him save three penalties.
Defenders – Branislav Ivanovic/John Terry/Cesar Azpilicueta/Ashley Cole

Branislav Ivanovic and Ashley Cole take the full-back spots in this team for their heroics in the first half of the decade. Ivanovic was crucial in several title wins, and the Champions League triumph in 2012. It feels as if Cole has not been replaced since his departure – a true mark of his ability and what he brought to the Chelsea side.
Gary Cahill deserves an honourable mention here. He just misses out to current club captain Azpilicueta, who has been a mainstay in the Chelsea side for the majority of the decade. John Terry partners him, again for his spell in the first half of the decade. This included playing every minute in the 2014-15 season.
Midfielders – Willian/Frank Lampard/N’Golo Kante/Eden Hazard

The midfield features two current Chelsea players. They are N’Golo Kante and Willian. The former deserves his spot for the pure ability he possesses, as well as the pivotal role he has played at Chelsea since his move from Leicester in 2016.
Willian gains a place having been at the club for seven years of the decade. The Brazilian has made over 200 appearances for the club and despite his occasional critics, he deserves a spot in the team of the decade.
Eden Hazard takes the spot on the left-wing. He was also at Chelsea for seven years and provided magic throughout each one of those years, despite the 2015/16 blip. He will go down as a Blues legend.
The final midfield spot could only go to one man. Frank Lampard. Arguably the club’s greatest ever player. He deserves a spot in the squad for his efforts in the 2010 title win, the Champions League and FA Cup wins, and is it fair to say his recent managerial exploits help him out too?
Strikers – Didier Drogba/Diego Costa

Drogba’s place in this team needs no explaining. The Champions League final alone gives him a place in the squad. Add in the 2010 title win and the return to Chelsea which featured a goal against United and you have a man undoubtedly in the team of the decade.
Partnering him in this team is Diego Costa. The crazy Spanish striker made an instant impact at the Bridge and was a key part of Chelsea’s title wins in 2014/15, and 2016/17. He scored 52 goals in 89 Premier League appearances and deserves a place in this team.
