Hakim Ziyech has had his say about Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final opponents Manchester City and how difficult it will be to reach the reach the final.

The 28-year-old was part of the Chelsea starting line-up that lost to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge back in January — and it was a heavy defeat.

Even the 3-1 scoreline arguably flattered Chelsea because the away side were already up by three goals before Callum Hudson-Odoi scored a late consolation goal in the last minutes.

Ziyech, like the rest of Chelsea attackers, struggled to make an impact despite the possession advantage in that game, having created just one chance in his 64-minute appearance.

Ahead of the big semi-final match, the Morocco international is clearly aware of how difficult it is going to be.

“They are leading the league, and they are really impressive this season, the way they play,” Ziyech told Chelsea’s official website about Manchester City.

“You can see they have individual players who can do crazy things.

“As a team, they can do a lot of things, and it’s just the way of how they play football.

“I played them in January here and I think in the first half the game was already over.

“What I can remember is when they speed up the tempo, they are a difficult team to beat.”

Chelsea have replaced Frank Lampard with Thomas Tuchel since and the team, particularly the new players, have had more time to settle in as well.

Manchester City are arguably still the favourites, given their Premier League form and the fact that they are still fighting in four competitions as it stands.

But as Tuchel pointed out at his press conference, anything can happen in a knock-out game.
