Chelsea supporters were highly impressed by the performance of Antonio Rudiger after he excelled against Manchester United yesterday.
The Blues and the Red Devils played out a 0-0 draw that probably didn’t suit either side, but was a deserved result for both.
It was a Premier League game of huge billing. Unfortunately, it was one that delivered very little.
Thomas Tuchel’s team lacked potency in the attacking third.
Thankfully, they looked solid in defence and managed to keep United largely under control.
This was thanks to a back three that consisted of Rudiger, who earned huge admiration from Chelsea fans.
Rudiger was starting his seventh consecutive league game under Tuchel and his ninth appearance in total for Chelsea’s new coach.
His all-round display versus Manchester United highlighted why he has been brought back into the Blues set-up.
According to WhoScored.com, the 27-year-old defender made three clearances, played four accurate long balls and completed three dribbles in Sunday’s fixture.

Most of United’s moves were thwarted by a combination of Rudiger and his two centre-back partners, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta.
Between the trio, they limited Ole Gunna Solskjaer’s side to four shots on target and none that really troubled Edouard Mendy.
Tuchel will be hoping for the same solidity when Chelsea travel to Liverpool on Thursday evening.
