Clearlake, whose headquarters are in the United States, will have been delighted to see the Blues lift a trophy in their home country, and Co-founder and Managing Partner Jose E. Feliciano has shared his congratulations to the players and staff involved.
He took to LinkedIn to tell supporters that the club are still looking to carry out the principles they made clear before the campaign got underway, and reaching their targets of regularly contending to win the Premier League.

“Still not a finished product (very few things are) but after a few years where like the great football philosopher recently said: “Everyone’s talked a lot of s— about us…”, it is great to finish this season with two trophies, a win against a formidable European champion, and qualification for the Champions League next season.
“What we wrote last year still stands:

> Consistently winning or contending for the Premier League and Women’s Super League titles
> Consistently playing in the Champions League and competing for domestic [and international] cups
> Consistently competing for titles across the youth age groups
> Developing and discovering the next generation of footballing talent for the benefit of the club
› Being responsible actors and contributors to our community, while meeting Financial Fair Play and other regulatory requirements
› Earning the trust and confidence of our supporters

Boehly and Eghbali relationship still strained despite Club World Cup triumph
The relationship between Boehly and Behdad Eghbali has been well-documented to be in a bad place as a result of disagreements on a number of key points regarding the future of the club.
Despite being crowned world champions, it has been reported that both Boehly and Eghbali are still not on the best terms, although working together professionally.
It remains to be seen which, if either party, takes a step away from the running of Chelsea, with Chelsea fans preferring Boehly of the duo.
