Reports have claimed that one club are now waiting for Chelsea to make a bid to sign their player at some point this year.

According to Il Mattino, Napoli are awaiting the Blues to formally make an offer to sign Victor Osimhen, however this will not be a deal that comes cheap.

Osimhen has frequently been touted as the player the club have right at the top of their list when it comes to potential signings at Stamford Bridge

It is well documented that the Blues are looking for a striker to add to their ranks after seemingly being unhappy with the current options they have at the club.

However, the Nigerian’s decision to sign a new contract a few weeks ago has left the deal virtually impossible to pull off during this January transfer window.

This has seen Chelsea reportedly explore some short-term options this month, with Karim Benzema being the biggest name reported to be of at least some interest.

Despite that, it is still expected that they will move back for Osimhen when this season comes to an end.

In fact, the latest reports from Italy have claimed that Napoli are actually waiting for the Blues to make a bid, albeit needing to be for more than £100m.

There are a number of options on the table for the Blues when it comes to signing a striker at the end of this current season.

Ivan Toney didn’t take long to show football fans what he was all about in his first appearance last weekend since his ban.

He scored from a free-kick and inspired his Brentford side to win 3-2 against Nottingham Forest.

The England international would likely come in a bit cheaper than Osimhen, he is another one who is unlikely to be available if they want to strengthen their ranks this month.
