While a lot of Chelsea’s attention is on trying to secure new signings before the transfer window temporarily closes, first team players being sold cannot be discounted either.

Enzo Maresca will not want to deal with the extortionate amount of players that he came in to last season again, with the side who competed in the Conference League early in the season being described as the ‘bomb squad’.

Chelsea were able to move on a number of these players during the January transfer window, however the majority of those are set to return to Stamford Bridge after they were only temporary switches.

One of those is Axel Disasi, who spent the second half of the season at Aston Villa. They missed out on a spot in the Champions League after the Blues’ big win on the final day of the campaign.

Juventus have moved ‘in the last few hours’ to sign Axel Disasi

It has been reported that Villa are unlikely to sign Disasi permanently after he failed to establish himself as a regular starter, however his future does not look bright in West London following his £38m move.

Chelsea may be about to be saved though after a side also competing in the Club World Cup have registered interest in signing the Frenchman this summer.

According to journalist Mirko di Natale, Juventus have enquired over the availability of the 27-year-old, with the window slamming shut temporarily at 7pm on Tuesday.

He said: “In the last few hours, is among the clubs that have made enquiries about Axel Disasi (27), who played the final part of the season with Aston Villa.

“It is expected that Disasi and Chelsea will part ways by mutual agreement during this summer. The Bianconeri are monitoring a defender with his characteristics (he can play as a central defender and right back).”

Chelsea prepared to part ways with multiple defenders

Chelsea have a number of defenders on their books who they could be willing to part ways with at some stage of the summer window.

Disasi was offered to West Ham in a potential swap deal for Mohammed Kudus, with Tosin Adarabioyo, Benoit Badiashile and Trevoh Chalobah also mentioned as potential options for the Hammers.

There may be more of an appetite to part ways with their current crop following the return of Renato Veiga, who enjoyed a strong spell playing in his preferred position of centre-back on loan at Juventus.

He could be the new competition for Levi Colwill, putting Badiashile’s status at the club firmly in danger.
