Reunited at Stamford Bridge, Cole Palmer didn’t hide his excitement after Chelsea officially unveiled his former academy teammate Morgan Rogers.

Morgan Rogers joins Chelsea from Aston Villa on a six-year deal. The move reunites Rogers with former Manchester City academy teammate Cole Palmer, adding serious fire to Xabi Alonso’s new-look attack.

Both Palmer and Chelsea captain Reece James played active roles behind the scenes during England’s World Cup camp, with James speaking to him directly and Palmer messaging him to convince the forward to choose Stamford Bridge over rivals Arsenal.

And in a summer that saw Elliot Anderson join Manchester City for £115 million, the Blues have gone one better, with the £117 million guaranteed fee making Rogers the most expensive British player in history.

Cole Palmer welcomes Morgan Rogers to Chelsea

After being unveiled as a Chelsea player, Morgan Rogers shared just how much Cole Palmer has been pestering him to move to Stamford Bridge over the past week or so.

“Non stop ringing my phone and texting me. He’s so happy, he’s never text me so much in his life. It’s probably the most special thing to play with one of your best friends”

Speaking on his personal Instagram account, Palmer had this to say.

‘Playing for Chelsea FC with one of your best friends in life >>>’

The redemption arc from Palmer is going to be magnificent under Xabi Alonso.
