Cole Palmer’s penalty record after surprising miss in Chelsea vs Leicester City

Cole Palmer is widely regarded as one of the best penalty-takers in world football and he has the record to prove it.

Palmer became Chelsea’s penalty specialist soon after he joined the club from Manchester City and it’s going to stay that way for a while.

It will be almost impossible for him to surpass Harry Kane as England’s first choice, however, but he’s certainly on the shortlist.

The Chelsea Chronicle has recorded every penalty in Palmer’s professional career and whether he scored or missed.

Cole Palmer’s penalty record

Chelsea

Palmer temporarily held the record of the player with the most penalty goals in Premier League history without missing (12).

That was until the Blues’ 1-0 win against Leicester City on Sunday, March 9, in which his effort was saved by Mads Hermansen in the first half.

England

Palmer has only taken one penalty in his international career so far with England’s main man Kane holding that responsibility.

The former Manchester City man did score in England’s 2024 European Championship quarter-final penalty shootout win against Switzerland but that doesn’t count as it wasn’t in play.
