Boston Celtic co-owner Stephen Pagliuca has wished Chelsea luck ahead of tonight’s Champions League showdown with Real Madrid.
Pagliuca, 67, is one of the four remaining bidders on the shortlist to buy Chelsea.
The American billionaire, who’s reportedly been attempting to raise extra support to his consortium in his bid to buy the London club, has broken his silence on Tuesday.
He’s made several intriguing claims in quotes from Sky News, including a line where he guarantees the club’s name, colours or logo wouldn’t be changed if their takeover bid is successful.
In addition, he mapped out a plan to remain at Stamford Bridge but with resources to renovate the stadium.
Pagliuca has issued a message to the Chelsea squad ahead of Tuesday night. The Blues travel to Real Madrid with a 3-1 aggregate deficit for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
“The very best of luck ahead of tonight’s Champions League match against Real Madrid,” Pagliuca said.
“Having witnessed a great 6-0 win against Southampton last week, I hope to see a comeback for the ages against Real Madrid in the quarter-final second leg.”

Happy Chelsea fans
In fairness, Pagliuca’s comments ticks a lot of boxes that will please supporters.
Everybody wants to know what the club’s future will look like under the next ownership, something which is frightening after nearly two decades under Roman Abramovich.
It’s vital the Blues try keep their top quality staff. For instance, it’s been reported all four bidders on the takeover shortlist hope to keep club director Marina Granovskaia.
