Craig Burley shares what’s really ‘surprised’ him about Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson this season

Craig Burley has been quite “surprised” by one thing he’s seen from Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson so far this season.

Chelsea have made a pretty steady start to the campaign as they adjust to life under a new head coach. For Enzo Maresca, he must be content to see his side pick up 10 points from five Premier League games.

The form of Nicolas Jackson, 23, has definitely been one of the biggest positives so far.

Jackson, who’s now into his second year at Stamford Bridge, has already scored four league goals this campaign and created two assists. This included an excellent brace last weekend during an impressive 3-0 away win at West Ham.

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler has raved about Jackson as he prepares his side to take on Chelsea tomorrow afternoon in the league.

Craig Burley surprised by Nicolas Jackson

ESPN pundit Craig Burley is the latest pundit to praise Jackson for his eye-catching start to the campaign. In particular, he’s focused in on the centre-forward’s ability to connect play.

When discussing Chelsea’s Jackson, Burley told ESPN: “What I’ve been impressed with, his link up play this season has actually been pretty good. That’s surprised me because I think he really, really struggled with that last year. He’s much improved there’s no doubt about that.”
