Former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley has not held back while discussing one player at his old club.
Chelsea are already facing criticism following their 2-0 loss to Manchester City over the weekend.
It seems harsh given that it was quite a close game, with City not killing the match until the end after Mateo Kovacic’s late strike. But Craig Burley and others were not impressed with some of the things that they saw on the day.
Another former Chelsea player and pundit, Pat Nevin, was critical of Enzo Fernandez, who was named as captain in Reece James’ absence.

Craig Burley questions Nicolas Jackson’s decision-making
Nicolas Jackson had a few good opportunities to score and even had a goal disallowed for offside.
If the striker did not go as early as he did, the game could have ended differently for Enzo Maresca‘s side.
Burley, though liking some of Jackson’s attributes, has now criticised the 23-year-old for his decision-making.
Speaking on ESPN FC after the match, he said: “You have Nico Jackson up front, who is a willing runner. He’ll work hard; he’ll give you 100%. But he doesn’t make good decisions and I don’t think he’s a natural finisher.”
Could Joao Felix replace Nicolas Jackson up front at Chelsea?
Chelsea look set to make another attacking signing, with Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix expected to join the club.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have chosen Felix instead of Federico Chiesa, suggesting that the 24-year-old could play out wide under Maresca.
However, Felix is also capable of starting up front and if Jackson continues to waste good opportunities and Chelsea fail to sign another centre-forward, it is not impossible that the Portugal international is given a chance to lead the line.
It is, of course, still early days. You would expect Jackson to get more opportunities. And while the former Villarreal man also missed a lot of chances last season following his £32m move to Chelsea, he still managed to score 17 goals in all competitions.
Ultimately, Jackson is a decent striker. He just needs to improve his finishing and, for Burley, his decision-making, too.
