Chelsea have already made several signings in this summer transfer window, but there aren’t too many high-profile names among the new recruits.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, 25, is one of the more well-known individuals to arrive at Stamford Bridge. He left boyhood club Leicester City after winning Championship promotion last season to become a Chelsea player.
The left-footed central midfielder does have previous Premier League experience on his CV, plus it’s a big bonus that he worked under head coach Enzo Maresca at Leicester last season.
Speaking recently via talkSPORT, Dewsbury-Hall explained why he’s a great fit for Maresca’s style. He’ll certainly hope he can pick up where he left off last season with the Foxes.

Darren Bent criticises Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall signing
TalkSPORT pundit Darren Bent says that he’s a fan of Dewsbury-Hall as a player, but he can’t comprehend signing him and allowing Conor Gallagher to leave in the same window.
Bent told talkSPORT: “The signings, I mean, I like Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, but I mean to bring him in and sell Gallagher. Is it an upgrade? I am not quite sure it is.”
Gallagher, 24, is reportedly on the brink of leaving Chelsea. In fairness, it’s easy to see why people are looking at Dewsbury-Hall as a like-for-like replacement because they’re both central midfielders that like to push forward.
Respected journalist Fabrizio Romano reported via X that Gallagher to Atletico Madrid is pretty much certain on a five-year deal. Now, everyone is just waiting for some official confirmation.
Don’t write off Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Of course, Chelsea fans are well within their right to wish for Gallagher to stay. It doesn’t mean that Dewsbury-Hall is suddenly a bad signing, though.
It’s absolutely clear that the box-to-box midfielder is returning to the Premier League this time around a much more complete player than the one that previously appeared in it with Leicester.
His game came on leaps and bounds last season under Maresca’s coaching, scoring 12 goals and making 15 assists across all competitions for the Foxes in their Championship title-winning year.
