Darren Bent suggests Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson is a striker with the potential to score 20 goals this season.

Nicolas Jackson has netted once in his opening five Chelsea appearances across all competitions, but he’s definitely making a positive impression on the fanbase.

The 22-year-old has certainly left a few goals out on the pitch already for the Blues, including last weekend against Nottingham Forest when he somehow fired his shot over the crossbar from such a close distance.

We feel pretty confident the goals will start to flood in when you examine his overall impact and presence in attack, though.

TalkSPORT pundit Bent has given a vote of confidence towards Chelsea’s No 15.

“I think Jackson will come,” Bent told talkSPORT.

When asked if he can reach 20-plus goals a season, Bent replied: “I think he will be up there.”

Jackson finished last season with a flurry of goals for Spanish club Villarreal, scoring nine times in his final eight La Liga matches.

The Senegal international looks like he could end up being a £32million (Daily Mail) bargain this summer.

However, the frontman will ultimately be judged on his goal output.

His luck is going to turn if he keeps getting in the right positions and the on-field connection with his teammates will keep growing.
