Ahead of Everton’s trip to Stamford Bridge, David Moyes was asked about Chelsea’s recent dip in form.
Chelsea and Everton are set to square off on Saturday afternoon, currently separated in the standings by just one point.
Enzo Maresca spoke on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s Chelsea end, and revealed that Cole Palmer and Wesley Fofana are available for Everton.
Next up was Moyes, who also touched on Dewsbury-Hall before responding to a Chelsea criticism in a way that fans will love.

David Moyes snaps back at Chelsea critic
Moyes’ record against Chelsea isn’t the best. He has never won at Stamford Bridge in his storied Premier League career.
All the more reason for him to have such respect for the Blues that, when asked about their poor form, Moyes shut down the question in an emphatic manner.
During his Everton press conference, Moyes was asked for his thoughts on this Chelsea rough patch.
He responded: “Are you talking about the world champions? Is that what you’re talking about? So, you’re talking about the world champions have been a little bit out of form.
“They’ve done amazing, haven’t they? Really, Chelsea, they were getting criticised a little bit for the way they were going about the business, but they brought in some great players.
“You know, I don’t know everything about Chelsea, but they look as if they’re in there going in the right direction.”
Moyes was taken aback by the criticism his opponents are receiving. He isn’t going to let the narrative distract from how good Chelsea have been over the last 12 months.

Enzo Maresca responded to the same critique
Earlier, a similar question was posed to Maresca.
He was asked about the very real struggle for consistency that has held the Blues back this season.
His response (via Football London) was: “It’s the next step for us. I think during the season, the ones that are more consistent, they are the teams that are going to be there.
“How do we do that? It’s just one week, it’s not a long time, but for sure when something happens, the next one you are more prepared and you can avoid that. In terms of human beings, it’s impossible to be at the same level for the whole season but we need to learn things for the future.”
Unfortunately for Maresca, every Premier League side is made up of human beings. It’s not really a valid excuse.

He recognises that improvements are needed in those areas, but every team has things they need to improve.
Moyes was right to point out that this drop in form is not the end of the world. The key to escaping it is the consistency Maresca is talking about here.
