‘Definitely’: 23-year-old Chelsea player is now fully fit for League Cup final, journalist says

Chelsea’s Mason Mount is reportedly “fully fit” going into this weekend’s showdown against Liverpool.

Reliable football journalist Matt Law has shared the news that the 23-year-old Chelsea star is available for the League Cup final on Sunday.

“Mason Mount is definitely fully fit for that game I’m told,” Law confirmed on the London Is Blue Podcast.

Thomas Tuchel’s Blues will face off against rivals Liverpool at Wembley Stadium in the Carabao Cup final.

For Mount, he may get the opportunity to line up in yet another final for boyhood club Chelsea.

The attacking midfielder picked up an ankle injury in the Club World Cup final victory against Palmeiras earlier in February, so he was completely absent for a Premier League game against Crystal Palace.

Thankfully, he was back on the bench during this week’s Champions League tie. He was an unused substitute during the victory in the first leg of the last-16 European contest.

Tuchel has supposedly been given a considerable boost now that the England international is “fully fit” to face Liverpool.

Mount likely to start for Chelsea

If fully fit, it won’t be a surprise to see Mount in Chelsea’s starting line-up this weekend.

His energy and work rate is likely to be crucial against a Liverpool opponent that will try to play with a high intensity.

Also, he’s been one of the most consistent attackers in the squad during recent months.

He’s scored seven goals and made eight assists in 34 games across all competitions so far this season.
