Frank Lebouef suggests that Paris Saint-Germain’s Luis Campos would be the perfect man to become the new Chelsea sporting director.

58-year-old Campos, who only took charge as PSG’s football advisor in June, is linked in the media with a potential move to Stamford Bridge.

It’s been reported that Chelsea’s co-owner Todd Boehly has already held conversations with Campos, who’s a candidate in the Blues search to appoint a sporting director.

The Portuguese man has a glowing reputation in football for the work he’s done in the past when it comes to recruitment at the likes of Lille and Monaco.

Lebouef suggests Luis Campos

ESPN pundit and former Chelsea player Lebouef believes the Blues are linked with the ideal person.

Lebouef was asked on ESPN if he would be happy to see Campos appointed Chelsea’s next sporting director. His response: “Definitely. I think, for me, he is the best sporting [director] I have ever seen.

“I followed him when he was at Real Madrid, Monaco, Lille. Remeber Lille was about to be relegated when he came over and two or three years after they became champions of France. No doubt all big clubs want to have him because he knows how to find the best players.”

The appointment of someone like Campos into a senior role at Chelsea could be great news, but you’d like the new man to have some kind of positive relationship with Graham.

It’s all change at the Bridge under new ownership, who appointed Englishman Potter as their new head coach last week after sacking Thomas Tuchel.

There’s a few months now for the Chelsea hierarchy to get everything in order, but they don’t want to be scrambling around still by the time January rolls around.
