Chelsea have been in the goals this season in all competitions, and one man who certainly knew how to find the back of the net was Didier Drogba.

Nowadays, the Blues are relying on the likes of Nicolas Jackson to lead the line and find the goals at the pinnacle of the attack.

Cole Palmer has chipped in massively with his contributions from midfield, scoring six and assisting five in eight Premier League matches this season.

It’s certainly a much more well-rounded Chelsea side, with contributions coming from a number of different players.

One man who knew a thing or two about scoring goals is Didier Drogba, and he’s been speaking about one of his biggest regrets from his time at Stamford Bridge.

Didier Drogba wishes he got to play alongside one current Chelsea player

Dider Drogba was an absolute menace during his time at Chelsea, finishing as the club’s fourth highest ever goalscorer with 164 goals.

The Ivorian shouldn’t have too many regrets, picking up a whopping 14 trophies during his time at Chelsea, including a Champions League title.

However, it appears as if there’s one player he regretted not playing with.

According to Give Me Sport, Didier Drogba has stated that he regrets not playing with current Chelsea star Reece James.

“For me, it was also a great experience. I wish I was on the pitch with Romelu Lukaku, Antonio Rudiger, N’Golo Kante, Mason Mount, Reece James and so on. Yes, it is a regret.”

Reece James’ time at Chelsea

There’s no doubting that on his day, Reece James, who has been hailed as a ‘complete’ player, is one of the best right-backs in world football.

However, things just haven’t gone to plan for him at Chelsea with constant injury issues halting his progress at Stamford Bridge.

Drogba isn’t the only Chelsea legend who rates Reece James, as Ashley Cole has previously said he’s a player who can do everything.

It was a good start against Liverpool last time out, but there’s always that slight worry in the back of the mind that he could pick an injury up at any time.
