Didier Drogba sent his best wishes on social media to Izzy Brown after the former Chelsea loanee shared his latest injury issue.
Brown posted a photo of himself in crutches onto his Twitter, thanking those who had offered messages of support and commiserations.
It was confirmed on Tuesday by his new team, Preston North End, that the midfielder had ruptured his Achilles in training.
This means the 24-year-old is set to miss a sizeable chunk of the season as he makes his comeback.
One of the first members of the Chelsea contingent on the scene was Drogba, who wanted to wish Brown a quick recovery.
Some players simply cannot earn a break in the game. Unfortunately for Brown, he falls into that bracket.
Whilst on loan with Brighton & Hove Albion in 2017, he missed just over a month of action through injury.
He then suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage the following January.
A move to Leeds United that summer didn’t enhance his fortunes.
The ex-Leicester City academy product picked up a hamstring problem, which would strike him down again whilst playing for Luton Town in 2019.
Chelsea then released Brown at the end of the previous campaign, having made one first-team appearance for the club in eight years.
Preston was meant to signal a new chapter in what’s been a horror story so far for the player.
Sadly, that nightmare hasn’t held up just yet.
