Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic has shared that he could really feel the influence of the Chelsea fans last night, especially in the opening 10 minutes of the Champions League tie at Stamford Bridge.
Dortmund travelled to west London on Tuesday evening for the second leg of a Champions League last-16 contest.
Despite holding a one-goal advantage, the Germans were beaten 2-0 by Chelsea yesterday to end their European run this season.
It was yet another memorable Champions League night at Stamford Bridge, with the home supporters really driving their team onwards to victory.
Eventually, goals from Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz ensured Graham Potter’s side will be in the quarter-final draw.
Dortmund’s boss did give a special mention to the atmosphere created by the Chelsea supporters at the start of yesterday’s match.
“I think the first 10 minutes you can feel the power not just from Chelsea but from the stadium,” Terzic told BT Sport 1.
“After that, we came back into the game but they managed to score and we didn’t.”
The entire fanbase came together last night in support of Chelsea’s bid to come from behind against Dortmund, which they managed to do with real style.
Hopefully, it was the type of performance that can be a springboard for the final third of the season.
It’s up to the Chelsea players to keep this momentum and ride the wave into this weekend’s Premier League game away to Leicester City.
If Potter’s side replicate the same kind of intensity and desire, Stamford Bridge can be rocking during the remaining matches this campaign.
