Real Madrid No.8 Toni Kroos has taken to Instagram to react after Chelsea target Gabri Veiga agreed to join Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia.

The German shared his response in the comments section of Fabrizio Romano’s post.

So, what did Toni Kroos write about Chelsea target Gabri Veiga? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the Spain Under-21 international has decided to leave Celta Vigo for the Saudi Pro League in a shock move, despite Chelsea holding an interest. That was according to the Guardian.

So far this summer, a number of experienced stars have moved to the Middle East, including Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, Roberto Firmino, Riyad Mahrez and Sadio Mane.

However, Veiga is arguably the first up-and-coming player with the world at his feet to join a Saudi Arabian side, going against the trend that only those approaching the end of their careers are considering the Middle East as a destination.

While the 21-year-old is entitled to do whatever he wants with his career, Kroos thinks the Spaniard has made an “embarrassing” decision.

The 33-year-old made that crystal clear with a one-word response to Romano’s post.

Chelsea could still sign Gabri Veiga soon if things go badly

It is a bold decision to move to Saudi Arabia at the age of just 21.

Veiga certainly has the talent to succeed at Al Ahli, although in truth, he may actually find things too easy over there given the level of those who aren’t imported superstars from European clubs.

If that turns out to be the case, or the Spaniard simply fails to settle in Saudi Arabia, then Chelsea could see an opportunity open up to have another go at securing his signature – in our view at least.

Take the Chinese Super League for example – a number of players chose to abandon that project, seemingly due to the lack of competitiveness in the division.

Hopefully, Veiga has not harmed his highly promising career by moving to Saudi Arabia so early.
