Jude Bellingham has sparked banter within the England camp by publicly teasing Morgan Rogers over an ongoing joke with Cole Palmer.

The bond between Jude Bellingham, Cole Palmer, and Morgan Rogers comes from years of shared excellence, with the trio coming up together through the England youth ranks.

Their tight-knit friendship is often seen as playful locker-room banter, but beneath the jokes lies an incredibly fierce professional rivalry. All three naturally operate in the number 10 roles, which actually proved to be one of the reasons Palmer was left out of the World Cup squad.

It’s not the only debate that has been ongoing between Palmer and Rogers, as there’s also the talk of who originally came up with the trademark cold celebration.

Jude Bellingham winds Morgan Rogers up over the trademark celebration

In a joint appearance on the Lion’s Den YouTube, Jude Bellingham and Morgan Rogers were asked about which of their two celebrations is the best.

Bellingham responded by saying, β€œMine or Cole’s?”

To which Rogers said, β€œCut. Cut this right now. That comment.”

This comes after Palmer has already given Rogers credit for the celebration, despite everyone only really associating it with the Chelsea midfielder.

β€œMy boy Morgz [Rogers] did one for Middlesbrough, so I told him I’d do it too if I scored,” Palmer said.

A silver lining for Chelsea and Cole Palmer

For Chelsea fans, seeing their talisman left out from the World Cup squad is bittersweet, but it could provide the ultimate silver lining for the upcoming season.

A well-rested Cole Palmer will have the rare luxury of a full pre-season under new Blues boss Xabi Alonso.

History shows that Palmer thrives when he has a point to prove, and this snub is bound to add fuel to his fire, especially after criticism for Chelsea as well.
