Enzo Fernandez has claimed he’s now forming a great connection on the pitch with Chelsea’s Kai Havertz and Joao Felix.
Chelsea splashed out £106.8million (Sky Sports) in January to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica, which did raise plenty of eyebrows. However, the 22-year-old definitely hasn’t let the British-record transfer fee impact him in a negative way.
The Argentine midfielder has instantly become a key player in the Blues line-up.
He possesses the kind of passing range that attackers love. Therefore, it’s no surprise to hear him mention the understanding he’s got with teammates Kai Havertz and Joao Felix.
Speaking on UEFA’s official website, Fernandez explained the combination which is forming with two Chelsea stars.
“As time goes by, we start getting to know our teammates better and it will get better with time. Have I struck up a connection with Kai Havertz and Joao Felix? We do have this connection, away from the pitch as well. But we have many good players,” Fernandez said.
Havertz claimed last month that Fernandez has “a lot of qualities on the ball.” It’s why the German forward should always be looking for clever pockets of space to receive the ball.
In addition, Felix has reportedly become best friends Fernandez since they both completed mid-season transfers to Chelsea.
Let’s hope for some magic from the aforementioned trio tomorrow night against Real Madrid.
We think the trio of Fernandez, Felix and Havertz will all be on the pitch for the trip to Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. It’s time for these big players to step up and perform on the elite stage.
Fernandez proved at last yea’s World Cup finals he’s a big-game player, so we can’t wait to see what he produces on Wednesday night. We want to see plenty of creativity from Frank Lampard’s side, something which has gone missing at times this season.
