While Cole Palmer is really struggling at Chelsea right now, Enzo Fernandez is absolutely thriving.
Palmer has not scored a goal for the Blues since January, which came in their 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.
Fernandez, on the other hand, managed to net in Chelsea‘s 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur at the start of the month, while he was also able to register an assist at Craven Cottage on Sunday.
Right now, the midfielder may be the best creator in Enzo Maresca‘s squad. Maresca was quite critical of Fernandez last weekend, though, for a costly long ball he played in the 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town.

Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez tops chances created chart in 2025
It was not just the Fulham game where Fernandez showed that he is able to create. The Argentine has been doing it for the majority of the season.
In fact, according to WhoScored, Fernandez has created 30 chances in open play in the Premier League since the start of 2025, more than any other midfielder.
Former Chelsea striker Carlton Cole, though, still thinks that the 24-year-old lacks something.
When Cole spoke about Fernandez last week, he said: “He’s one of the ones that’s supposed to lead the team, and he did win the World Cup. Winning the World Cup in a team like Argentina where you’ve got the leaders in that team anyway, he’s seen how a leader should look, but he’s not at that stage just yet in his career. It might look like he is, but he’s not that guy just yet.”
Chelsea’s squad as a whole lacks leadership and experience. It is why the club could really do with someone like Jonathan Tah coming in.
Tah is leaving Bayer Leverkusen when his contract expires at the end of the season and has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the past.

Enzo Fernandez’s numbers vs Fulham
Fernandez could not add another London derby goal to his name over the weekend, but he will still be pleased with his performance against Fulham.
To go with his assist, the Argentina international also recorded two key passes and was able to complete four out of the seven long balls he attempted. Ultimately, his passing was as crisp as ever.
| Enzo Fernandez vs Fulham | Total |
| Minutes | 90 |
| Assists | 1 |
| Touches | 56 |
| Accurate passes | 37/45 (82%) |
| Key passes | 2 |
| Crosses (accurate) | 6 (2) |
| Long balls (accurate) | 7 (4) |
| Ground duels (won) | 5 (4) |
Hopefully Palmer can now return to form. If he does while Fernandez keeps creating chances, then Chelsea should be able to finish in the top five and qualify for the Champions League.
