Enzo Maresca will not be in the dugout for Chelsea’s game against Manchester City this weekend.

On Wednesday, it emerged that Maresca’s relationship with Chelsea was at breaking point before it was reported that he has agreed to part ways with the club.

The Blues have been on a bad run of form, winning just one of their last seven Premier League games.

The reliable Fabrizio Romano has now given an update on the whole situation.

Chelsea set to start search for new manager after agreeing Enzo Maresca exit

Romano revealed on X that Maresca and Chelsea have agreed to part company with immediate effect. His departure has now been confirmed on the club’s official website.

According to the Italian journalist, the Club World Cup winners will now start searching for the Italian’s successor.

Chelsea fans here on The Chelsea Chronicle have already named potential candidates to replace Maresca.

The likes of Oliver Glasner, Xavi, Zinedine Zidane have all been mentioned by Chelsea supporters on TCC.

Liam Rosenior could be the favourite for the job, with the 41-year-old already working at Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg.

Maresca was able to guide the Blues to the Club World Cup and Conference League trophies last season, but his job clearly became untenable in the end.

Maresca’s departure has not come at the best time, with that tough fixture against City awaiting.
