Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca oversaw the first win of his Blues career in dominant fashion against Club America.
They ran out 3-0 winners, with Marc Guiu’s first goal for the club sandwiched by penalties from Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke.
The winger was seemingly keen to take both penalties in the game, however a message got through from Maresca to let Nkunku take it.

Just like last season though, injuries looked as if they were going to rear their head again at the worst possible moment.
Malo Gusto had been impressing in an inverted full-back role, however was forced off after receiving medical attention in the second half.
Maresca says Gusto is not really injured
Maresca has now come out and said that fortunately the issue for the Frenchman is just cramp at this stage.
He said: “Fortunately for Malo [Gusto], Benoit [Badiashile] and Christo [Nkunku], all of them, it was just cramp. For Nicolas and Moi, they are very close. They are still doing some work apart from the team but hopefully next week they can start to train with us.”
Gusto certainly did not escape his own share of bad luck when it came to injuries last season.
However, when he was fit he left everyone very impressed, especially given the fact that he had big shoes to fill in the form of Reece James.
James back to right-back
The club captain impressed after he returned to a more orthodox role on the right of defence. He had been inverting into the middle of the park frequently up until last night.
Gusto’s ability to do this could be a real bonus for his status as a starter at Stamford Bridge.
He will likely be under consideration as well as Marc Cucurella for that role in the squad next season.
