Chelsea made it two wins from two to top the group in the Conference League after a 4-1 victory over Panathinaikos in Greece.
After making 11 changes from the side that lost to Liverpool, Enzo Maresca was going to get a look at those players who are pushing hard to break into the Premier League side more regularly.
The manager said he was impressed by Renato Veiga’s performance. The Portugal international featured in another new position as a centre-back.
Chelsea fans meanwhile were delighted with Mykhailo Mudryk’s display. The Ukraine international found the net for the first time this season, whilst also setting up two goals for Joao Felix.

Enzo Maresca says Mykhailo Mudryk goal a training ground plan
It has certainly not been easy for the Ukraine international under the new boss. Maresca has been seen visibly frustrated with Mudryk for seeming to not take his instructions in at times.
However, that was certainly not the case last night. The Italian said after the game that his goal was exactly what they had been working on with him since he arrived at the club.
He said to Football London: “Very happy, not for me but for him. We as a staff, we spend a long, long time to help the players; not only Misha but the whole squad. Since we started, we are working with Misha and all the wingers to arrive in the box, into the position where Misha scored.
“He struggled to arrive there and now he is starting to arrive there. That is where we are going to score goals. It’s for him, it’s for Jadon [Sancho], it’s for Noni [Madueke], it’s for Pedro [Neto] – all of the wingers. They need to be in position because the ball is going to arrive in that position.”
Should Mudryk start on Sunday?
Another cup game where all four attackers contributed to at least one goal has made it a tough call for Maresca when they return to league action on Sunday.
The boss has been starting Jadon Sancho on the left wing in recent weeks, however he was replaced at half-time against Liverpool after a subpar display.
Neto impressed pundits after coming on against the Reds, but Mudryk has certainly inserted himself into the conversation of players who could be handed a start at the weekend.
It would be up against opposition who he has scored against before. The Ukrainian found the net against Newcastle in their 3-2 win over them in the latter stages of last season.
