Enzo Maresca is happy with the improvement that he is seeing from one of his Chelsea players right now.
The Chelsea boss will be pleased with how his squad as a whole is doing at the moment.
Despite injuries at the back and Cole Palmer’s unavailability, the Blues still find themselves just six points behind leaders Arsenal in the Premier League table.

Moises Caicedo has been in fine form of late and is one reason why Chelsea are performing so well in the English top flight.

Enzo Maresca says Moises Caicedo is improving
Caicedo was one of Chelsea’s best players last season but is still getting better and better, according to Maresca.
Speaking about the midfielder on the latest episode of Sky Sports’ One on One, Maresca said: “He’s doing well, he’s progressing, he’s improving every day, he’s open minded, he wants to learn and he’s helping his teammates in every game.”
He has now carried his form from the previous campaign into this one. Even so, Caicedo was snubbed by WhoScored as they put together their Premier League Team of the Season so far.
While the 24-year-old was omitted, there was at least room for Joao Pedro, who has now scored in successive top-flight games after netting against both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur before the international break.
It would now not be a surprise if Pedro and Caicedo were rested when the Premier League returns, with Chelsea having a huge game against Barcelona in the Champions League just days after their trip to Burnley.

Moises Caicedo averaging more tackles and interceptions
Going off statistics, it does appear that Caicedo is improving and in more than one area.
Eleven games into the Premier League season, and he has already bettered his goal tally from the previous campaign. As well as that, the Ecuador international is also making more tackles and interceptions per game.
| Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Tackles per game | Interceptions per game |
| 2025/26 | 11 | 3 | 1 | 3.1 | 2.4 |
| 2024/25 | 38 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 1.3 |
What is scary is the fact that Caicedo is not even 25 yet. He has plenty of time to get even better. Maresca and Chelsea will be delighted with the trajectory that the former Brighton & Hove Albion man is on.
